The 0.031" (0.80mm) pitch on a dual-row layout packs 40 circuits into a compact footprint, which means the board layout engineer needs to route traces between pads at this tight pitch — typical for high-density mezzanine interconnects in portable or space-constrained equipment. The plug stands 0.185" (4.70mm) above the board and mates with a BergStak Lite receptacle to achieve stacking heights of 5mm, 9mm, or 13mm, depending on the receptacle height selected. That z-height range covers everything from slim handheld assemblies to slightly taller stacked modules, but the choice of receptacle height is what actually sets the final board gap — the plug side is fixed at 4.70mm. The board guide and pick-and-place features tell the assembly line this part is ready for automated placement: the board guide aligns the plug during mating to prevent pin stubbing, and the pick-and-place surface lets the nozzle handle it without a custom nozzle.
