RF Interconnect for 1 GHz Signal Paths
The 31-5486-1010: It mates with standard BNC plugs using a bayonet lock, giving a quick twist-on connection that holds through vibration. The 500 V rating and 0.2 dB insertion loss suit it for test equipment, instrumentation, and RF patch panels where the signal path needs a clean launch through a bulkhead. This is the isolated, board-lock variant of the 31-548 series — the board lock anchors the right-angle solder tails to the PCB, taking strain off the joint when the cable gets tugged.
Mounting and PCB Fit
The board lock feature — two small tabs that solder into plated through-holes — keeps the connector from rocking during cable mating and unmating. Panel thickness is set by the nut and lockwasher; the jack accepts standard BNC panel cutouts for a 0.500-inch diameter hole. Contact termination is solder for both the center pin and the shield.
