The Cat3 rating limits this jack to 16 MHz signal bandwidth, which covers legacy Ethernet (10BASE-T) and voice-grade applications but not 100BASE-TX or higher. The unshielded design (no metal shell or grounding tabs) means it relies on the cable's own twisted-pair balance for noise rejection — best suited for low-EMI environments or short patch runs where shielding is not required. This jack mounts vertically through a PCB via through-hole solder termination. The housing is molded from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyester, rated for the -40°C to 70°C operating range — narrower than many RJ45 jacks, so check ambient temperature in the enclosure.
