Board-to-Board Header for Standard 0.100-inch Grids
The Amphenol 79821-118HLF is an 18-position, dual-row unshrouded header from the BERGSTIK® II series, designed for board-to-board interconnect on the standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch grid. This through-hole, solder-terminated male pin header uses square pins with phosphor bronze contacts, and the mating finish is specified as gold or Gold GXT™ at 30.0 µin (0.76 µm) thickness. It is rated for 5 A per contact at 110 V, with a UL94 V-0 rated black insulation housing.
The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch and 0.100" row spacing are the classic PC/104 and legacy ISA-bus footprint — any board designed for that grid will accept this header without a layout change. The 5 A per-contact rating is typical for signal-level and moderate power distribution on a 0.025" square pin; derate if the ambient temperature inside the enclosure exceeds 25 °C.
As an unshrouded header with push-pull fastening, it mates with any standard 0.100" pitch, dual-row female socket that accepts a 0.025" square pin — typically BERGSTIK II or similar shrouded receptacles. The 0.430" (10.92 mm) mating pin length gives clearance for standard box-type sockets.
