50-Position IDC Receptacle for 2.00mm Ribbon Cable
The Amphenol 89361-350LF is a 50-position receptacle from the Minitek® 2.00mm series, designed for mass-termination to 28 AWG ribbon cable via IDC contacts. The 0.079" (2.00mm) pitch matches the standard 2.00mm ribbon cable conductor spacing, making this a direct-fit connector for parallel-wire ribbon assemblies where 50 conductors need to break out to a board-mount header. The dual-row arrangement with 0.079" (2.00mm) row spacing keeps the overall connector width compact for the 50-circuit count. The housing includes a polarizing key and feed-through feature — the key prevents mis-mating with the matching header, and the feed-through allows daisy-chaining or pass-through wiring along the cable. The black housing is free-hanging (in-line), so no board mount is required; the connector sits on the cable end and mates to a board-mounted header.
Gold Contacts and IDC Termination
This gold thickness supports moderate mating cycles — enough for field-service reconnections or periodic harness swaps, but not the thousands of cycles expected in production test fixtures. The IDC termination is specific to 28 AWG ribbon cable; the insulation displacement slots are sized for that gauge, so using a different wire size risks poor contact or insulation damage.
For a 44-conductor cable, the 89361-144LF fills that gap. The 89361-150LF is also a 50-position part but omits the polarizing key feature, so the 89361-350LF adds keyed mating for applications where orientation must be enforced.
