SMA Plug for RG-55/142/223/400 — What's in the Kit
The Amphenol 901-9874 is an SMA plug, male pin connector built for RG-55, 142, 223, and 400 series coaxial cables. It comes as a 5-piece assembly kit: the connector body, a contact, an end cap, a ferrule, and a heat shrink tube — everything needed to terminate one cable end without sourcing extra hardware.
50 Ohm, 12.4 GHz — Where the Bandwidth Lands
The threaded coupling gives a positive mechanical mate that holds the impedance steady through vibration.
Termination Sequence — Crimp Shield, Solder Center
Shield termination is crimp, center contact is solder. The kit includes the ferrule for the braid crimp and the heat shrink to seal the cable entry.
The 901-9867-RFX is the same SMA plug style but built for RG-405 semi-rigid cable (.085" /.086") with a solder shield termination instead of crimp. If your BOM calls for semi-rigid, the 901-9867-RFX is the correct fit; for RG-55/142/223/400 flexible cable, the 901-9874 with its crimp shield is the one to use. Both are active, both carry gold bodies and 500 mating cycles.
