Backplane Power Header for Dense Routing
The Amphenol XCede 958-6201-A1H is a high-speed backplane header carrying male pins and blades on a 0.073" (1.85mm) pitch. Rated 6 A per circuit, each contact handles local power distribution — think auxiliary rails feeding line cards, not the main bus bar. The press-fit termination eliminates solder joints, so the header can be pressed into plated through-holes and reworked if a pin gets damaged during assembly.
6 A per circuit at the 0.073" pitch gives you enough headroom for a 48 V auxiliary rail or a 12 V local supply without pushing the contact temperature rise above the UL94 V-0 housing limit.
Press-Fit Termination for Solderless Assembly
The press-fit termination means this header is designed for a solderless backplane assembly process. The compliant pin compresses into the plated through-hole, creating a gas-tight joint that passes the same reliability tests as a soldered connection. If a pin gets bent or a column needs replacement, the press-fit joint can be extracted and a new header pressed in without desoldering — a real advantage in high-reliability chassis where rework access is limited.
