9-Pin Right-Angle D-Sub Plug with Board Locks
The shell uses the standard shell size 1 layout with 4-40 threaded inserts for the mating half. Board locks on the mounting brackets and grounding indents in the shell are standard features here.
This is a right-angle through-hole part, so the pins bend 90° and sit 0.318" (8.08mm) back from the panel face. That backset spacing means the PCB edge must be set in from the panel cutout by at least that distance to clear the solder tails. The 2-row footprint follows the standard DE-9 pattern — the same layout used by every 9-pin D-Sub on the market — so the PCB artwork is interchangeable with other manufacturers' parts as long as the backset matches. The steel shell with tin-nickel plating provides the mechanical strength and corrosion resistance expected from a panel-mount D-Sub.
The 4-40 threaded inserts accept the jackscrews on the receptacle side to lock the pair together. For high-vibration environments, the board locks and the screw-lock mating provide the mechanical retention; the grounding indents add an extra shield-current path that keeps EMI from coupling into the signal lines.
