D-Sub Receptacle for Board-Edge Cable Termination
It accepts the standard E shell size layout and mates with any male D-sub plug of the same shell size and 4-40 screwlock pattern. The steel shell with tin-nickel plating provides EMI shielding and mates with the grounding indents on the plug side. The 4-40 female screwlock flange on the mating side secures the pair against vibration in cable-connected assemblies.
Right-Angle Routing and Board Fit
The 0.409" (10.40mm) backset spacing positions the mounting holes and shell relative to the board edge — this dimension governs the keep-out zone on the PCB layout and the clearance to adjacent components. The through-hole tails are on 0.108" (2.74mm) row spacing, standard for DE-9 footprints. The 4-40 threaded inserts on the flange accept the mating plug's jackscrews; the flange sits on the mating side, so the screws engage before the contacts bottom out.
Current, Temperature, and Material Limits
Gold flash on the phosphor bronze contacts provides corrosion protection for moderate mating cycles.
