0.50mm Pitch, 30-Position FFC/FPC Connector with ZIF Actuation
It uses a zero-insertion-force (ZIF) actuator with a slide lock to secure the cable, and the contacts are on the bottom side of the connector — it mates with a straight or tapered FPC/FFC inserted from the top.
Tin vs Gold Contacts — Mating Cycle Trade-off
The SFV30R-1STE1HLF uses tin-plated contacts (20 mating cycles). For applications needing more frequent disconnect/reconnect, the sibling SFV30R-1STBE1HLF swaps to gold-plated contacts — gold handles higher cycle counts without oxidation wear, though the current and voltage ratings remain the same at 0.5A and 50V. If the FPC insertion direction needs to be from the bottom (contacts on top), the SFV30R-2STE9HLF offers that orientation while keeping the same tin plating, 30 positions, and 0.50mm pitch.
It is RoHS compliant and uses a halogen-free, glass-filled LCP housing rated UL94 V-0.
Cable Fit and Locking Detail
Accepts FPC or FFC thickness of 0.30mm or 0.33mm — the ZIF actuator opens to accept the cable, then the slide lock pushes forward to clamp the contacts against the pads. The cable end can be straight or tapered; the connector body is keyed to prevent reverse insertion. The housing material (LCP, glass-filled) provides dimensional stability during reflow soldering.
