The 10A per-contact rating assumes all 9 positions loaded and the connector in still air at 25°C. Derate if the ambient runs above that or if the harness bundles several wires — the housing's temperature rise is the real limit, not the contact itself. The locking ramp is a positive latch — you'll hear it click when the mating housing seats. It's not a screw-lock or a secondary lock, but it holds against casual pull and moderate machine vibration. For heavy cable strain, add a tie-down to the board or a clamp on the harness side.
