The 75 Ohm impedance and 2 GHz maximum frequency define the signal envelope — this plug is intended for baseband video (SDI, composite), telecom T1/, and instrumentation links where the characteristic impedance of the cable and connector must match to avoid reflections. The insertion loss is specified at 0.15 dB, a figure that holds across the band when terminated onto the correct cable group. Cable compatibility is specific: the plug is designed for AT&T 735A cable group. That means the crimp ferrule and centre contact are sized for a particular cable diameter and dielectric type — substituting a different cable without checking the fit risks poor crimp retention and impedance mismatch. The dielectric is polyethylene (PE). Termination is crimp for both the centre contact and the shield — a two-step crimp process using the correct die set for the cable group.
