ST Simplex Plug for Multimode Fiber Runs
The TE Connectivity 5504001-1 is a field-installable ST simplex plug from the LightCrimp XTC series, designed for multimode fiber with a 125 µm cladding diameter. The ceramic ferrule and bayonet lock give it the repeatable insertion loss and mechanical retention needed in patch panels and equipment rooms. The -0.4 dB typical attenuation is right in line for a multimode ST termination — expect consistent performance across the link budget.
Cable Fit and Field Termination
This plug accepts a 3.0 mm cable jacket diameter. The epoxyless crimp-style termination requires no oven or UV lamp.
Bayonet Lock and 500-Cycle Duty
The ST bayonet lock mates with any standard ST receptacle — the twist-and-lock engagement is faster than a threaded connector and holds against cable tug in a patch panel. The included dust cap keeps the ferrule face clean between mates.
