The 1-2842116-0: The breakaway design lets you snap the strip to the exact position count your board needs — useful when a BOM calls for a non-standard length and you want one P/N to cover several builds. In a field-service board where the connector is cycled a few times a year, that gold thickness gives decades of reliable signal contact.
Right-Angle Through Hole, Pick-and-Place Ready
Through hole, right-angle termination — the pins sit perpendicular to the board, which keeps the mated cable or board-to-board stack parallel to the PCB edge. The 0.110" post length gives enough standoff for wave-solder fillet inspection without bottoming out against the board. Listed with a Pick and Place feature — the header includes a flat vacuum-pickup area on top of the insulator, so it feeds through a standard SMT pick-and-place machine even though it's a through-hole part. That saves a manual insertion step in high-volume assembly. Housing is UL94 V-0 rated thermoplastic, black.
