The single-row 12-position body is narrow enough that the cutout is not much wider than the contact row itself. Because this is a plug-to-plug adapter, both sides present male pins. The mating CT receptacle housings (with female crimp terminals) plug onto each end. The adapter stays fixed in the panel; the harness halves connect and disconnect at the panel face.
