Board Locks and Right-Angle Mount — Mechanical Retention
In a right-angle through-hole mount, the board locks take the strain off the solder joints — without them, repeated cable flex can crack the fillets over time. The contact length on the post side is 0.150" (3.81mm), which fits standard 1.6mm PCBs with enough tail protrusion for wave or hand solder.
