Termination: Press-Fit or Solder
The 1-440055-5: The dual termination option — press-fit or solder — gives the board assembler flexibility. Press-fit eliminates the soldering step for high-reliability backplane builds; solder retains rework access for prototype or low-volume runs. The 0.134" (3.40 mm) post length and 0.138" (3.50 mm) mating pin length are standard for 1.6 mm PCB thickness with a right-angle footprint.
Compared to the 1-292164-1 (CT series, 11 positions, 2.00 mm pitch, detent lock), the 1-440055-5 carries 15 positions and a 3-wall shroud versus the 4-wall shroud with detent lock. The 1376366-8 (.025 series, 8 positions, 2.20 mm pitch, 5 A) offers higher current but fewer circuits at a wider pitch. The 1394090-1 (6 positions, 2.85 mm pitch, 39.4 µinch tin) is a lower-position, wider-pitch alternative with thinner plating.
