Housing for a 6-Circuit Harness
The TE Connectivity 1-480705-2 is a 6-position receptacle housing from the Universal MATE-N-LOK series, designed as the wire-side half of a panel-mounted interconnect. It accepts both male and female crimp contacts, giving the harness builder flexibility to populate positions for signal, power, or a mix of both within a single housing. The housing snaps into a panel cutout and secures with a built-in locking ramp, providing positive retention against vibration and cable pull. The 0.250" (6.35mm) row spacing gives enough room for 20-14 AWG wire with typical Universal MATE-N-LOK contacts.
What Mates and What Goes Inside
This receptacle housing mates with the corresponding Universal MATE-N-LOK pin header (panel-mount or free-hanging). Contacts are ordered separately — the housing accepts standard Universal MATE-N-LOK crimp terminals (male pin or female socket), terminated to wire before insertion. The red color of the housing is a visual aid for keying in multi-connector harnesses, though it carries no electrical function.
