Compared to the single-row 6-position 1-1376477-6 from the same Universal MATE-N-LOK family, the 1-480708-2 doubles the circuit count and adds two more rows — 12 positions across 3 rows vs 6 positions in a single row. The 1-1376477-6 uses a 0.098" (2.50 mm) pitch, while the 1-480708-2 spaces its rows at 0.250" (6.35 mm), giving more room for larger wire gauges or higher current terminals. Both accept male or female contacts and share the latch lock fastening, but the 12-position housing is the one to reach for when the harness needs more than 6 circuits in a single connector.
For a storeroom spare, this means the plug housing is still in regular production and can be ordered against a BOM line without worrying about a last-time buy.
The Universal MATE-N-LOK series accepts a range of pin and socket contacts (sold separately) that match the 0.250" row spacing and cavity geometry. For a harness build, stock both the plug housing and its mating receptacle housing as a pair, plus the correct terminals and tooling, to avoid an orphan half on the shelf.
