BNC Plug Kit — 50 Ohm, 4 GHz, Bayonet Lock
The 1-5227079-1: It is a field-installable, crimp-termination kit that includes the connector body, a silver-plated brass center contact, a ferrule, and a spacer — four pieces per order code. This connector is suited for coaxial cable assemblies in test equipment, broadcast video, instrumentation, and low-power RF transmission where a 50 Ohm interface is required.
This BNC plug is specified for RG-59, 59A, 59B, 62, 62A, and 62B coaxial cables — common 75 Ohm and 50 Ohm types used in video and data applications. The center contact and shield are both crimp-terminated, which provides a consistent, gas-tight connection when used with the correct crimp die. The included ferrule and spacer ensure the braid is captured evenly and the dielectric is supported at the back of the connector body. For a reliable 50 Ohm assembly, the cable must be prepared to the manufacturer's strip dimensions; the silver-plated center contact wipes clean during crimping for low intermodulation.
The 4 GHz maximum frequency covers most baseband and intermediate-frequency signals; above that, the BNC interface's inherent mode conversion degrades return loss. The 500 mating cycles rating reflects the silver-plated brass center contact and nickel-plated brass body — adequate for test-rack and field-service reconnection, but not for high-cycle production test interfaces where gold plating would be preferred.
