BNC Bulkhead Jack with Right-Angle PCB Tail
RF Performance and Bandwidth Ceiling
The 4 GHz maximum frequency is the practical bandwidth limit for this BNC interface. At 50 Ohm nominal impedance, the connector maintains a controlled signal path up to that frequency; beyond 4 GHz, the BNC interface geometry introduces mode conversion and return loss degradation. For systems operating at or below 4 GHz — typical for test equipment, broadcast video, and lower-band RF instrumentation — this jack delivers a clean 50 Ohm path. The 500 V rating is a dielectric withstand figure, not a continuous operating voltage at high frequency; derate for RF power applications per the system's VSWR and peak envelope power.
The right-angle solder tail exits the connector body perpendicular to the panel face, so the PCB must be oriented parallel to the panel plane. The board guide feature assists alignment during PCB insertion.
Mating Cycles and Mechanical Endurance
The bayonet lock provides a positive mechanical connection without the thread engagement time of a threaded coupling. The centre contact material is phosphor bronze, which offers good spring properties for repeated mating, but the 500-cycle rating means the contact force will degrade beyond that count, increasing contact resistance and potential signal reflection. For permanent installations, the cycle count is not a concern; for frequent reconnection, plan for replacement after the rated life.
