The latch lock/eject hooks are the long version, which means they extend beyond the shroud to provide leverage when unmating a dense 60-position connector from the board — a practical feature when the connector is in a tight spot. A keying slot and mounting flange are included, allowing polarization to prevent mis-mating and providing mechanical fixation to the PCB through the flange holes.
This header mates with AMP-Latch socket connectors that accept 0.100" pitch IDC ribbon cable. The 60-position, 2-row socket with latch/eject compatible hardware is the typical mating half.
