The 1-640457-5 is a 15-position single-row header from the MTA-100 series, designed for board-to-cable/wire connections. It mates with the corresponding MTA-100 receptacle housing and crimp terminals, using a friction lock to keep the pair together under vibration. The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch is the standard spacing for MTA-100, matching the receptacle pitch exactly. The through-hole right-angle orientation places the mating face parallel to the PCB, useful for board-edge cable exits.
Tin-plated contacts and UL94 V-0 housing
Both the mating and post surfaces are tin-plated, suitable for moderate mating-cycle applications. The thermoplastic housing carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, required for equipment inside an enclosure. The operating temperature range of -55°C to 105°C covers most indoor and industrial cabinet environments. The current rating depends on the wire gauge used in the mating terminal — not a fixed per-contact limit.
