0.156" Pitch, 8-Position MTA-156 Header — What It Carries
The 1-641938-1: The header itself doesn't set the current ceiling; the terminal and wire do. Rated for 600VAC, with a UL94 V-0 glass-filled thermoplastic housing that holds up in industrial and general-purpose equipment.
Friction Lock and Single-Wall Shroud — Retention vs Protection
The friction lock provides a positive detent when mated with the matching MTA-156 receptacle — it holds against moderate vibration but won't resist a hard yank on the cable. For higher shock environments, consider a header with a detent lock or secondary latch. The shroud covers only one wall (the back side of the header), leaving the front of the pins exposed. This prevents solder bridges from shorting to the board behind the header, but doesn't protect the pin tips from debris during handling. Full 4-wall shrouded headers like the 1-292164-1 (0.079" pitch) or 1379030-3 (0.100" pitch) offer more mechanical protection at the cost of a larger footprint.
The header is available in bulk packaging. No stock-holding claim — each order is quoted individually.
