The polarizing key is a molded rib on the housing that aligns with a corresponding slot on the header, preventing reverse-mating or cross-mating with a different key position. You must order the SL-156 crimp socket terminals separately (TE part numbers 1-1703459-1, 1703459-1, or similar depending on wire gauge and plating). The natural colour is the natural nylon colour — no dye added, which matters if you have a colour-coding requirement for the harness.
It is a standard 0.156-inch centerline, which mates with TE SL-156 headers of the same pitch — the board footprint is defined by the header's through-hole pattern, not the housing. The -55°C to 105°C temperature range is the operating envelope for the nylon housing material — derate current through the contacts above 85°C per the terminal's derating curve, but the housing itself is stable across that span. The locking ramp and polarizing key together mean this is a vibration-resistant, error-proofed mate — suited for harnesses that get plugged and unplugged in the field, not a one-time solder joint.
There is no secondary terminal position assurance (TPA) on this housing — the primary latch is the contact tang itself, so verify full insertion during assembly.
