1-770967-1 is a 3-position, single-row header from the Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK series, designed for board-to-cable/wire applications. The 4.14mm pitch and right-angle through-hole orientation let it sit flush against the PCB edge, keeping the mating cable parallel to the board — a common layout in power supplies, control panels, and industrial equipment where space is tight. The shrouded 4-wall housing protects the male pins from accidental shorting and guides the mating receptacle into alignment. A locking ramp on the header engages the receptacle latch for a positive hold that resists vibration better than a friction-only fit. Gold mating finish and board lock for reliable connections

The tin tails solder cleanly into plated through-holes. Integrated board locks anchor the header to the PCB during wave solder and resist shear forces from cable strain. Without them, the solder joints alone would carry the mechanical load — the board locks share that duty.
