18-Position Shrouded Header for Wire-to-Board
The 1-794632-8: The housing is fully shrouded with four walls and a locking ramp, providing mechanical protection for the male pins and a positive latch against the mating receptacle. This makes it suitable for applications where vibration or accidental disconnection is a concern, such as industrial control panels or power distribution inside equipment.
The post (solder tail) uses 100 µinch tin-lead, which is compatible with standard through-hole soldering processes.
Termination and Mounting Options
The press-fit option allows solderless assembly for backplane or high-reliability builds where rework is a consideration. The contact length after the post is 0.125" (3.18mm), which sets the board thickness range for proper through-hole fill.
