Gold Flash vs Tin: Mating Cycle Life
The mating finish is gold flash, not a thick gold layer. If the design calls for frequent disconnect — say quarterly field service — a thicker gold plate (15 µinch or more) would be the better choice, but that's not this part. The post finish is tin, which solders cleanly into the board.
