18-Position Dual-Row Housing for Harness Builds
The TE Connectivity AMPMODU Mod IV 1-87631-4 is an 18-position, dual-row receptacle housing that accepts crimp-terminated female socket contacts. It is the wire-side half of a wire-to-board or wire-to-wire interconnect system, designed for free-hanging (in-line) mounting. The housing is molded in black thermoplastic and uses a detent lock for positive retention when mated.
The detent lock gives an audible click on full mate, which saves rework time on the assembly line: you feel it seat.
Contacts Not Included — Order Separately
This is a housing only — no contacts are included. You need to order the matching AMPMODU Mod IV female crimp socket terminals separately. The crimp termination requires the proper applicator tooling for your wire gauge; the terminal part number depends on the wire size and plating (tin vs. gold) your application calls for. Factor the terminal order into your BOM line to avoid a stop-ship on the harness build.
Mating and Compatibility
The dual-row, 18-position layout means the mating header must also be 18 positions, dual row. The detent lock on the housing engages with the corresponding latch on the header. For wire-to-wire applications, a second receptacle housing with the same contact count can be used with a header interface.
