3-Position MCP Receptacle — 5.50 mm Pitch, Latch Holder
The 5.50 mm pitch provides generous creepage distance for higher-voltage circuits without ballooning the connector footprint. The glass-filled PA66 housing carries a -40°C to 120°C operating range, covering the full automotive underhood temperature envelope.
What the Latch Holder Means for Your Harness
The latch holder fastening type is a positive-lock mechanism, not a friction-only retention. That distinction matters in a high-vibration environment: a friction-lock can walk loose over time; a latch holder requires deliberate thumb pressure to release. For a 3-position power connector carrying motor or solenoid current, an unseated contact under vibration creates intermittent opens that are near-impossible to diagnose in the field. The latch holder eliminates that failure mode — the connector stays mated until the technician intentionally depresses the latch.
The housing ships without crimp terminals — the note 'Contacts Not Included' is the standard MCP procurement pattern. You order the receptacle housing and the female socket contacts as separate line items.
Free-Hanging Mount — No Panel Cutout Needed
The free-hanging (in-line) mounting type means this receptacle is designed to be a cable-to-cable or cable-to-device connector, not a panel-mount or PCB-mount part. It mates with the corresponding MCP plug housing (the male half), and the latch holder keeps the pair together. No panel cutout, no screws — just crimp the terminals, insert them into the housing, and mate.
