8P8C RJ45 Jack — Shielded, Cat3, Vertical Mount
It's a Cat3-rated jack, which means it's built for 10/100Base-T Ethernet — not Gigabit or Power over Ethernet applications where Cat5e or higher is required. Panel stops control how far the jack sits proud of the panel face, so the bezel alignment stays consistent across a multi-port array.
Cat3 is the original 10Base-T and 100Base-T4 rating — it certifies the jack for frequencies up to 16 MHz. That's fine for 10/100 Mbps Ethernet but not for 1000Base-T (Gigabit) which needs Cat5e or better. If your BOM calls for Gigabit, this jack won't pass the link-qualification test. For basic office LAN drops, legacy PBX, or serial-over-Ethernet adapters, Cat3 is sufficient and cost-effective.
