What this 6-position shrouded header does on the board
The 103908-5 is a 6-position, single-row header from the AMPMODU MTE series, designed for board-to-board or cable connections. The full 4-wall shroud protects the male pins from bending during handling and prevents mis-mating with non-keyed receptacles. The latch holder fastening locks the mating half in place without needing screws or clips, which saves assembly time in vibration-prone environments.
Termination and assembly fit
This header supports both press-fit and solder termination through the same through-hole footprint. Press-fit gives a solderless connection that's rework-friendly; solder provides a permanent joint. The 0.130" (3.30mm) post length is standard for 1.6mm PCBs. The post finish is 100.0µin tin-lead, which wets well during wave soldering but makes the part RoHS non-compliant.
