Shrouded Housing and Latch Lock for Secure Field Mating
A full 4-wall shroud protects the 0.240" (6.10mm) long square pins from bending during blind mating or cable strain. The long latch lock/eject hooks engage the mating receptacle's locking ears and provide a lever for tool-less disconnection — a half-turn loose is a dropout, but these hooks keep the pair mated under vibration. The keying slot in the shroud aligns with a matching rib on the receptacle, preventing insertion of a wrong-circuit or polarised housing. This is a practical mis-mate guard when multiple headers share the same board.

Gold Mating Finish for Reliable Low-Level Contacts
The mating contacts are finished with 30 µin gold or gold-palladium, which resists oxidation and maintains stable contact resistance over 50–100 mating cycles. The post (solder tail) is tin-lead plated at 100 µin for reliable solder-joint wetting.
