The housing is a free-hanging (in-line) design with a latch lock for positive retention once mated. It accepts female socket contacts that are crimped onto the wire, then inserted into the housing cavities.
Critical Procurement Note: Contacts Are Not Included
This is a bare housing — the crimp terminals are ordered separately. The AMPMODU MTE series uses specific female socket contacts that must be selected based on wire gauge and plating requirement. If you are populating a BOM line for this housing, add the matching crimp contact order code as a separate line item. Without the contacts, the housing cannot be terminated.
Mating and Termination
This receptacle housing mates with the AMPMODU MTE male header (through-hole or vertical mount, same 2.54mm pitch). The latch lock on the housing engages with the corresponding ramp on the header for a vibration-resistant connection. Termination is crimp-style: strip the wire, crimp the appropriate female socket contact, and insert it into the housing cavity until the retention lance locks. No soldering or special tooling beyond a standard hand crimper is required for field assembly.
