SMA plug for RG-402 semi-rigid — 50 Ohm, 18 GHz, threaded coupling
The 50 Ohm characteristic impedance matches the cable impedance, so the signal sees no discontinuity at the transition from cable to connector. Shield termination is solder — the braid is soldered to the connector body, typical for semi-rigid cable assemblies.
Cable-specific fit — not a generic SMA
The center conductor diameter and dielectric bore are sized for that specific coax. Using it with a different cable type (e.g., RG-316, RG-174) will not produce a proper impedance match or mechanical fit. If your cable is not RG-402, look for an SMA designed for that cable group.
