Product details

It terminates to RG-179 coaxial cable with a right-angle solder contact and a crimp shield termination, so the cable exit runs parallel to the board or panel face. The kit ships as three pieces: the connector body, an end cap, and a ferrule, which together cover the full cable prep and termination in one BOM line.

Rated to 6 GHz maximum frequency with 0.1 dB insertion loss. The 75 Ohm impedance is fixed by the PTFE dielectric.

Cable prep and termination

Designed specifically for RG-179 cable — the dielectric diameter and braid lay-up match the ferrule ID and the crimp die set. The right-angle solder contact requires a tinned centre conductor; the shield is captured by the crimp ferrule. The included end cap seals the cable entry side of the connector body. No separate ferrule or cap to source; the kit covers the termination hardware.

Nickel-plated body, PTFE dielectric, gold-over-beryllium copper centre contact. Snap-on fastening gives a positive click engagement without a coupling nut — quick to mate in tight panel spaces, but the retention depends entirely on the snap ring, so the cable must be strain-relieved separately.

Frequently asked questions

What cable is compatible with the 1362991-1?

RG-179 coaxial cable. The ferrule ID and crimp profile are sized for this cable group. Using a different coax type will change the impedance and may not achieve a reliable shield termination.

Does the 1362991-1 come with the ferrule and end cap?

Yes — the package includes three pieces: the connector body, an end cap, and a ferrule. No separate hardware to order for a standard RG-179 termination.

Is the 1362991-1 a right angle connector?

Yes — the cable exit is at a right angle to the mating axis, with a solder termination for the centre conductor and a crimp termination for the shield.
