What This Barrier Block Carries on the Panel
The TE Connectivity 1437653-1 is a 6-circuit barrier strip from the #6 Buchanan series, terminated with screws on the wire-entry side and PC pins on the board side. The 0.375" (9.53mm) pitch spaces each terminal pair wide enough for a screwdriver and a 12 AWG wire bend — this is not a high-density block; it is built for power distribution where each circuit needs tool access and clearance for the conductor. Rated 25A at 300V, it handles motor branch circuits, panel feed-throughs, and appliance power entry where a single-row layout keeps the wiring tidy.
25A per circuit is the continuous rating — that is bus-level current for a terminal block this size. The three-wall barrier (Tri) isolates each terminal from the next, so a stripped wire touching the adjacent screw body does not create a phase-to-phase short. Steel, stainless terminal screws resist corrosion in industrial cabinet atmospheres where condensation collects on the screw heads.
Mounting and Termination Sequence
Through-hole PC pins on the bottom side solder into the board — the pins anchor the block against the torque of tightening the wire screws. The top termination uses captive screws; no loose hardware to drop into the cabinet. Wire range 12-22 AWG covers most panel power wiring; 12 AWG fills the full current rating, 22 AWG for control signals.
