What this 4-position header fits
The 171825-4 is a 4-position, single-row header from TE's EI series, pitched at 0.098" (2.50mm) — a common spacing for signal-level wire-to-board interconnects. The single-wall shroud leaves three sides of the pins exposed — this is a deliberate design for applications where the mating receptacle needs clearance on one side, or where the header sits near a board edge and the shroud would otherwise interfere with adjacent components.
How the 2 A rating limits the circuit
Compared to the 1394090-1 (6 positions, 2.85 mm pitch, 4-wall shroud, right-angle), the 171825-4 is a simpler, lower-density, straight-through option. The 0.112" pitch of the 1394090-1 gives slightly more room for routing traces between pads, but the 171825-4's 2.50 mm pitch is still well within standard PCB fab limits.
The natural (off-white) colour is standard for the EI series.
