Single-Circuit Plug Housing for the Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK Series
The housing accepts either male or female crimp contacts — a gender-neutral design that lets the harness builder assign pin or socket duty per circuit without stocking two housing variants.
Contacts Are Ordered Separately — Plan the BOM Line
This is the most common sourcing trip-up on this part: the housing arrives and the build stops because the crimp terminals were never ordered. The Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK contact family covers a range of wire sizes; confirm the terminal fits the wire gauge in your harness before committing the BOM.
Mating Half and Polarisation
The series uses a keyed interface — the plug and receptacle are polarised so they cannot be mis-mated or inserted upside down. For a 1-circuit connection, the mating receptacle is a single-position housing from the same series.
For a single-circuit plug housing, the 172164-1 is the standard offering in natural PA66.
