The TE Connectivity 172328-1 is a 2-position receptacle housing from the Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK series. It accepts either male or female crimp contacts — the housing itself carries no terminals, so you order contacts separately.
Wiring It: Contacts and Termination
The housing is a shell — it does not include contacts. You buy the crimp terminals (male or female) separately, then crimp them onto the wire and insert into the housing. The contact termination is crimp, so wire prep is a strip-and-crimp job. The 2-position single-row layout keeps the harness narrow; the snap-in panel mount lets you push the housing into a panel cutout without extra hardware.
What It Mates With
This receptacle mates with a Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK plug housing of the same 4.20 mm pitch and 2-position count. The locking ramp on the receptacle hooks into the mating plug's latch. Because the housing accepts both male and female contacts, you can configure the pin/socket assignment per the harness design — just keep the mating halves consistent.
