8-Position Dual-Row Plug Housing for Multi-Lock Series
The TE Connectivity 173850-1 is an 8-position, dual-row plug housing from the Multi-Lock series. It's a free-hanging (in-line) connector body with a latch lock fastening system — the audible click tells you the mating half is seated. The housing is moulded in white polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), rated for -30°C to 105°C operation, which covers automotive cabin and industrial cabinet environments. Note that contacts are not included; you order the female socket crimp terminals separately to match your wire gauge.
What It Mates With and How It Terminates
This plug housing accepts female socket contacts terminated via crimp. The 0.232" (5.90 mm) row spacing means the dual-row layout gives you a compact but serviceable footprint — enough room for the latch lock to engage without interference. The latch lock holds the pair together under vibration; you'll hear it seat. For the mating half, you're looking at the corresponding Multi-Lock receptacle header — same series, same pitch, same row count.
