The 14 circuits at a 0.232" (5.90mm) row spacing define the cavity layout. This plug mates with a corresponding 14-position dual-row header — the row spacing is the same across the Multi-Lock series, so the footprint decision is driven by position count. For a 12-circuit harness the 173851-1 (12 positions, same row spacing) is the direct alternative; for 18 circuits the 173853-1 fits the same header footprint. The 8-position 173850-1 shares the same 0.232" row spacing and latch lock, just fewer circuits.

The crimp termination means the terminals are applied with a standard crimp tool, not soldered. Factor the terminal part number and tooling into the BOM alongside the housing.
