It uses a 2.50 mm pitch and 5.20 mm row spacing, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications. The latch holder fastening type provides a positive lock against vibration, making it suitable for automotive, industrial, and appliance environments where the connection must stay mated under movement.
Contacts Are Not Included — Order Separately
A critical sourcing detail: the 174047-2 ships as a housing only — contacts are not included. You must order the matching female socket crimp terminals separately for the 2.50 mm pitch Multi-Lock system. The housing accepts crimp contacts that are terminated to wire before insertion, and the latch holder secures the terminal position. Without the contacts, the housing is an empty shell; factor the terminal part number into your BOM.
Mating and Termination Fit
This plug housing mates with the corresponding Multi-Lock receptacle header (sold separately). Termination is crimp-style — the female socket contacts are inserted into the housing cavities after crimping to wire. The latch holder engages with the mating header's locking ramp to prevent accidental disconnection.
