It uses a 2.50mm pitch with a 0.205" (5.20mm) row spacing, designed for free-hanging inline wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications.
The official ROHS3 compliance covers EU regulatory requirements.
As a receptacle housing with tab contacts, the 174058-2 mates with the matching Multi-Lock plug housing that carries female socket contacts. The free-hanging mount means no PCB footprint is needed; the housing locks into the mating half via the integral latch on the plug side.
The 2.50mm pitch is a middle ground between fine-pitch signal connectors (1.25mm–2.00mm) and heavy power connectors (3.00mm+). It gives enough creepage for 250V–300V class applications without forcing an oversized harness cross-section. The dual-row arrangement packs 12 circuits into a housing roughly 15mm wide — efficient for multi-conductor cables in automotive body harnesses or industrial sensor arrays.
