36-Position Hybrid Receptacle Housing
This mixed-signal arrangement lets a single connector body carry both low-current control lines and higher-current power feeds through the same interface, reducing the number of separate connectors needed at a junction point. The housing is moulded in black glass-filled PBT, a material that holds up to underhood temperatures and industrial cabinet heat without softening.
This is flagged in the manufacturer's note because it is the most common line-item miss on a BOM. The correct terminal for the Junior Power Timer series depends on the wire gauge being used; the housing accepts the standard Junior Power Timer female crimp contacts, which cover a range of 0.5 to 2.5 mm² (roughly 20–14 AWG). Confirm the wire size against the terminal datasheet before placing the crimp tool order. The 36 cavities are arranged for 30 signal and 6 power contacts — the power cavities are typically larger to accept the higher-current terminal. Do not assume all 36 positions use the same contact; verify the cavity sizing in the product drawing for your specific wire assignment.
Mating Half and Series Positioning
The 1743059-2 is a close sibling: same 36-position count and black PBT-GF housing, but it uses a lever lock instead of a latch holder. The lever lock requires a different actuation motion — push-and-rotate — while the latch holder is a straight pull-to-release. Choose based on the access clearance in your assembly: the lever lock needs side clearance for the lever swing; the latch holder needs finger access to the top of the connector. The 1719105-1 is a sealed 14-position (2-row) Junior Power Timer receptacle with a latch holder — it is not a position-count match but shares the same fastening type and crimp terminal family. For a sealed harness requirement with fewer circuits, that is the direct alternative within the series.
