Mating half and latch lock
The latch lock on this plug engages with the mating receptacle's locking feature — you'll hear and feel it click when fully seated. The latch provides vibration-resistant retention, which matters in automotive and industrial harnesses where the connector pair sees shock and movement.
The 7.80mm pitch is wide compared to signal-grade connectors (typically 2.54mm or 2.00mm). That spacing gives enough creepage for higher-voltage applications without requiring a sealed housing, and it makes hand-wiring or crimping easier in a harness build. The 2-position count is the minimum for a circuit — you get one power pair or one signal pair per housing. If your BOM calls for more circuits, step up to the 3-position or higher member of the same series at the same pitch.
