Contacts Are Ordered Separately — Plan the BOM Line
This is a standard practice for HPI and similar crimp-to-wire connector families, where the terminal and housing are stocked individually to allow mixing wire gauge and plating options. The corresponding crimp terminal for this series is selected based on the wire size (typically 22-28 AWG for the 1.50mm pitch class) and the required contact plating (gold for high-cycle applications, tin for cost-sensitive fixed installations).
Locking Ramp and Free-Hanging Mount
The locking ramp fastening type provides an audible and tactile click when the housing is fully mated with the corresponding HPI header. The free-hanging (in-line) mounting style means the housing is designed to be part of a cable assembly, not panel-mounted or board-mounted; it terminates the wire harness and mates to a right-angle or vertical header on the PCB.
