6-Position Power Double Lock Plug Housing — Contacts Sold Separately
The TE Connectivity 177901-1 is a 6-position plug housing from the Power Double Lock series, designed for wire-to-board power interconnects in harness assemblies. The housing is free-hanging (in-line) and accepts female socket contacts that are crimp-terminated — the contacts are not included and must be ordered separately.
What the 0.156" Pitch and Latch Lock Mean for the Harness Build
The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch is the standard spacing for the Power Double Lock family — it sets the board footprint for the mating header and gives enough room between circuits for the 20-16 AWG wire range these housings typically accept. The latch lock on the plug engages with the mating header's locking ramp, providing positive retention that resists unplugging from cable pull or equipment vibration.
Mating and Termination — What Fits and What Doesn't
This plug housing mates with the Power Double Lock header (male pin) of the same pitch and circuit count — the 6-position receptacle header is the matching half. The female socket contacts are crimp-terminated to the wire and then inserted into the housing cavities. The housing itself has no contacts; the buyer must source the correct crimp terminal separately, typically the TE 177904 series socket contact. The latch lock on the plug engages with the header's locking feature for a secure mate.
