What the 3.96mm Pitch and Dual-Row Layout Mean for the Build
The 3.96mm pitch is wider than the 2.50mm pitch on the 1-1376477-6 single-row sibling, which means the 177901-4's mating header needs more board real estate per circuit but also gives more creepage between adjacent contacts at higher voltages. The dual-row arrangement (6 positions split across 2 rows) keeps the connector body compact in length — useful when the harness exits a panel cutout or a confined enclosure. The 0.181" (4.60mm) row spacing is the same centre-to-centre distance between the two rows of the mating Power Double Lock header, so the header's solder tails land in a predictable grid.
The Power Double Lock series uses a female socket terminal (typically TE part numbers 1-1703700-x or 1703700-x for the tin-plated version, or 1-1703701-x for gold) that crimps onto 18-22 AWG wire and inserts into the housing cavities. Without the contacts in hand, the housing is just a shell — the BOM must include both line items.
