The housing is molded in black glass-filled PA66 (Nylon 6/6), a standard material for automotive and industrial environments that handles underhood temperatures and mechanical loads.
You will need to source the matching male pin crimp terminals for the MCP series separately, sized to your wire gauge. The housing accepts contacts terminated via standard crimp tooling, giving you flexibility to choose the right wire size and plating grade (tin vs. gold) for your current and cycle-life requirements. Confirm the terminal part number with the TE MCP contact family before ordering the housing in volume.
Mating and Termination — Field-Ready Assembly
No soldering, no special PCB footprint. The locking ramp on the plug body engages with the matching ramp on the receptacle housing, giving a positive lock that resists un-mating from cable strain. For the mating half, you will need the corresponding MCP receptacle housing (same position count, 2-row layout). The free-hanging design means this connector is equally at home in a harness bundle, a junction box, or a panel feed-through with a grommet.
